a.Three Days after Giving Birth to a Baby

Formally begin to bath for the baby and use the clear water. Besides, put the osmanthuses, orange or longan leaves, stones and coins in the bathtub.


 

b.One-Month-Old Day

In this day, parents will cut hair for the baby and put 3 stones, 12 coins, 12 red eggs and green onions on the baby's head separately.



 

c.Gifts from Mother's Families

Many one-month-old gifts (hat, bib and shoes) are given from mother's families.



 

d.Four-Months-Old Day

The parents hang 12 cookies on the baby's neck with a red thread, moreover, relatives and friends will use a cookie to touch the baby's saliva and then eat it to bless the baby can stop slobbering.

For promoting the traditional life-cycle rituals of southern Fukien, Department of Civil Affairs, Taipei city Government hold the Blessing Birth Ceremony in Lin An Tai Historical House & Museum on July 28th 2012. This traditional ceremony contains the rites of ''stop slobbering'' and ''grabbing around the circle''. A total of 72 babies wore traditional bibs and were blessed from many people.
